Weekly update Oct 28

The last update for the Month of October.  And I have been doing this blog for three full months.  It has been a busy week of doctor's appointments and test.  That being said, that has thrown off my walking and workout schedule for this week.  Finally broke a mile in my walking on Monday.  It has been a long time, since I have walked a mile on one of my walks.  First time since I really started the walking back up again.  So I have not walked the rest of the week, until Saturday.  On Saturdays, I usually do a short walk and then go to the gym.  My short walk Saturday was a half mile walk.  And it felt good to get out there and walk.   Went to my last weigh in for the weight loss surgery.  Everything looks good and they are going to summit the paperwork to the insurance, and then schedule the surgery.  This is going to happen!!  So with that being said, they require a EKG and blood work.  So After the appointment,  we went over and got the EKG, and got the blood work done on Frid

Bad Thoughts!!!

As we were driving to lunch today, my thoughts went to food.  Why don't I just cheat and have a pizza, have a regular coke, oh potato chips or a hamburger with the bun.  Yes this is my life now.  I have done pretty good since we started this diet back in May.  But they are only thought.  Not really temptations.

Weekly Update Oct 21

Another good week.  Was able to get in all my walks and go to the gym 3 times.  Also went and saw the lung doctor this week, to try to get clearance for the surgery.  I thought I was going to go there, and he was going to see how good I have been doing in the  past two years, and just sign me off.  Well, he wants a new chest x-ray, and a breathing test.  So the chest x-ray is done, and the breathing test is scheduled for this week. One of the things I talked to him about was finally getting the oxygen tanks and the oxygen machine out of my life.  I really have not used the tanks for the past two years, and I had to use the oxygen machine when I got pneumonia and bronchitis earlier this year.  I have used a CPAP machine for this time as well, and he told me my sleep apnea is now in a good range.  So lets see if the breathing test goes well, and I can get these things out of my world.  Weekly net weight lose:  2.1 lbs.

Weekly update Oct 14.

This week was some what a normal week for me.  Got to get back to my work out schedule this week with not interruptions.  The only difference this week was, on Saturday, I normally do a short  walk and then go to the gym.  But it was raining really hard, so I skipped the walk. I had two interesting things happen to me this week.  The first was, on Friday, I woke up with my right leg and foot in a lot of pain.  I have been have problems with my foot for a while now, but on Wednesday as I was finishing up my walk, I pulled the muscle in my left calf.  So I resigned myself that I was going to take it easy today, and not walk.  But as I am sitting there, my mind is telling me that I need to get up and walk, that I can not skip today.  So I got up, got ready, and took it easy.  I felt much better for getting it done. The second was, I get asked a lot why I am doing the weight lose surgery.  Last night, I somewhat saw my future.  I love going to the movies, and I see a lot of them.  We

Popcorn

When I started on this weight loss journey back in May, one of the things I gave up was my Coke and Popcorn at the movies.  We had been food prepping for almost a year, but my movie time habits was off limits.  So when I went to the nutritionist, I had to ask what about popcorn?  I know there is no nutritional value in it, but going to the movies was torture.  Have to walk into the lobby and smell it really was hard.  So I asked, and got the answer.  If I wanted popcorn, no popcorn from the theater.    So I did do my research before asking.  We were at the store buying pork rhines for low carb meatloaf. As we were walking down the potato chip isle, I started looking at the different brands of popcorn being offered, everyone different on what they offer and serving size.   A few weeks ago I was at the store getting ready to maybe go to the movies that night, and found fun size offering for Skinny Pop Popcorn.  It is low carb.  So last night was the first time I could use it.  And o

Weekly Update Oct 7

Here we are in October!  Been doing this blog for over two months, and have had over 1000 views.  It was another busy week.  Two doctor's appointments this week.  Got the clearance from my heart doctor for surgery, now I have to get clearance from my lung doctor, which will happen next week.   My other doctors appointment was to the foot doctor.  I have had pain in my left foot for a few months now.  It has been a nagging pain, that would wake me up some nights.  I am never in pain when I am active.  The pain is in the ball of my foot.  So I got a shot between my big toe.   It is hard to believe that I am going to say it, but I am glad that next week is normal, because I get back to my work out schedule again, which is 3 day walking and 3 days at the gym.  It can not believe that I want to get back to working out that much, but I do enjoy it now.  It really has improved my life.   We went to the movies last night, and went to a theater that we have not been to in a while, th

1000 Views

After writing this blog for two months, I have passed over 1000 views.  I know that my girlfriend, her parents, and a few friends are viewing this, but I have no idea who else is reading this.  Is this entertaining?  Is this helpful?  Is this inspirational?  I have no idea.  But I will continue to update you on the journey to the center of me.
