Weekly Update: Nov 18.

Everything that I have been working for the past 6 months, has come to pass.  I have a surgery date of December 12.  Earlier in the week I had gotten a call from the doctors office, telling me that first, all of the test of I have done the past few weeks, they don't have them.  Then she tells me, that the surgery can not be done until January 7th.  I was not to happy to hear this news.  My thought went from, all the work I had done was for nothing, and I was not going to have the surgery, to delaying the surgery until we get back from Hawaii.

So my doctor's appointment was for Thursday.  So we went in there with a lot of questions.  So we see the PA, who says he will send in the scheduler.  She comes in and says that we can get me in on the 12th, and they have everything but my chest x-ray.  As we are driving home, I remember that I had a chest x-ray on the 17th of October.  I called back in and gave them the date, and they were able to get, and  complete all the things I need before the surgery.

So I am excited about the surgery.  I know this is the right thing for me!  I have had a few people ask me if this is really what I want to do, and I do. I have had doctors wanting me to do this for over 10 years.  It has taking me this long to get here and be prepared for this.  It was not an easy decision to make.   This is a big step in my life, another new adventure.

This week I used something, that I learned from the nutritionist.  I have been have a lot of pain  in my calves when I walk.  I could make it about half a mile, and then the pain started, and then the pain would last for a few days.  After my surgery they want me to drink V8 juice, to help with crapping and blood clots in the legs.  So I figured I would try it out.  So after work, I stopped by the grocery store and picked up a six pack of V8.  I took that for 3 days, and when I went out for my walk on Friday, I walked with out any crapping, and I made it a whole mile with out stopping.

Weekly weight loss:  0.6 lbs. loss.
