Sorry For Being Gone For So Long
Can not believe how long it has been since I last post on my blog. But is has been over three months, and a lot has happen in that time.
When I was last here, I was in the process of moving out. I finished that on the 27 of January. After living in Mesa for 40 years, I move just south to Chandler. Never thought I would ever move out of Mesa, but I did. I am about 10 minutes closer to work.
February, was a month of new adventures. On the 22 of February, we took a trip to Hawaii for a 7 day Hawaiian cruise of the Pride of America. This was truly a incredible trip. I was able to do things that I have not done in years. Being on a ship, you either have to take an elevator or stairs to get anywhere. If I want to be with my girlfriend when she smoked, I had to climb stairs to be with her, since there was no elevator on that level. One night we came out, of something, there was a long line for the elevator. So it was quicker to use the stairs. 3 flights of stairs. And I did it. with no problem. for many years, I would have said I would wait for the elevator.
One of our excursions on Maui, we where in this canyon that has an overlook, that had 135 stairs to climb to get to it. We had an amazing view at the bottom and we had about half an hour until we had to get on our bus for the next stop,. I had to decide if the nice view was OK, or just go for it and hike up the stairs. I was so amazed how it was not hard to make it up those stairs. I am so glad I pushed through my fears and did it. Did another hike in Volcano National Park as well.
One of the things I have wanted to do for years is go to a stadium or sporting event again. Again this is an issue with stairs. So in March we had tickets to the Garth Brooks Concert, on March 23. We went with a group of 23 on a party bus. The parking for the bus was about a quarter of mile from the Stadium, and our seats were on the other side as well. Again one of fears was walking up and down stairs there. We found or seats and then went to get food. So up and down those stairs several times. The Concert was great and glad that I was able to go.
I had a doctors appointment on the 17 of March. They official cleared me to eat regular food again, even though they told me I could once I went on the cruise. It is good to be able to eat salads and rare fruits and veggies again. And nuts!!!! I missed my snack of nuts. While on the cruise I really tried to watch what I ate. I did have some bites of dessert here and there, but only a few bits. I think the one thing I did over do was the bacon. Had a lot of bacon. I did come home 5 lbs heavier. But with in a week I had lost all that weight gained.
Right now as I started writing this blog I was at 325.4 lbs. I am at about the same weight I was when I was playing softball and was racing. The only difference now, is I am probably healthier now, then I was back then. I am just now 100 lbs away from my goal weight.
